The Grand Duke’s wedding was the first of its kind since the Bolshevik revolution in 1917, when Vladimir Lenin took power and created the world’s first communist state.

The glittering ceremony was followed by a gala dinner at the Ethnographical Museum, where five hundred guests came to pay tribute to the newlyweds. A ceremony where Boërl & Kroff Champagne accompanied the event. The guests were able to savor two emblematic Champagne vintages with the tasting of 12 magnums of Boërl & Kroff as well as 12 bottles of Boërl & Kroff vintage 2012.

For the occasion, all bottles were adorned with a medallion made by the craftsmen of the Orfèvrerie d’Anjou engraved with the initials of the bride and groom, the date of the wedding and the emblem of the imperial crown. As a wedding gift, the first Methuselah of Champagne Boërl & Kroff 2006 was given to the young couple.
